What are the Benefits of Online Hypnotherapy Sessions?

Hypnotherapy online works beautifully. I do all my work via zoom, and my clients love the convenience and effectiveness of the sessions. There are some real benefits to having your hypnotherapy session online from the comfort of home, these include:

Accessibility…

It doesn’t matter where you are in Australia (or even the entire world), you can have a hypnotherapy session with me. This is a huge benefit for people living in remote areas, with limited access to services such as therapy. All you need is a phone, a laptop or a tablet and internet connection. You can sit in your favourite chair or even have your session in bed!

Not having to drive before or after your session…

No driving or parking hassles before your session, and no having to be concerned about driving in the super relaxed state you will find yourself in after the session. While it is perfectly safe to drive after hypnosis, it is also really lovely not to have to refocus on tasks that require a high level of concentration straight away. 

No touching…

Some Hypnotherapists may use techniques that involve touching the client on the hand, the forearm or the head. This can be confronting, triggering or uncomfortable for some clients. Having sessions online means that I will be using techniques that do not require touching. This is especially beneficial for anxious clients, and survivors of trauma or abuse.

Being far more relaxed than you would be in a clinical setting…

Sometimes when we go into a new environment, or are feeling nervous about a new experience we can be a little “on guard”. Having your session from the safety and comfort of your own home, in familiar surroundings means that you will be far more naturally relaxed and comfortable than you may otherwise be in a clinical setting. Being more relaxed really does benefit the process of hypnosis and the added feeling of client safety is very supportive for therapy work.

Session availability outside of normal office hours…

Because I work entirely via Zoom I am able to offer evening sessions (as well usual daytime availability) to my clients. This is something that isn’t always available with other therapists and can be really convenient for clients who work full time.

Added privacy…

You have total control of privacy in your own home for your sessions. There is no risk of walking out of the clinic and bumping into someone you know, or having to sit in a waiting room with strangers or having your session with other people in the room next door.

Not having to “face the real world” til your ready after your session…

You can take as long as you like to reorientate to the rest of your day after your session, without having to be rushed out of the clinic the moment your session ends. In the case of therapy work, some clients may experience a lot of emotional release, and being able to rest and process in your own environment can feel far more comforting and safe than having to leave a therapists office immediately.

Convenience if you are travelling or away from home during a series of sessions…

You really can have your session from anywhere! I have many clients who have their sessions in their cars in their lunch breaks on their phones. I also have clients who have sessions from their hotel rooms, their caravans and their offices. 

Improved sound…

Having your session online allows you to use headphones with your computer, phone or iPad, and this really improves the sound quality, which has been shown to improve efficacy of hypnosis. You also have complete control over volume, which is excellent if you have hearing issues, and you can use noise cancelling headphones if you happen to have them for an even more immersive experience.
